Micro smart lockdown imposed in areas of Karachi's Central Districts

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Local government has imposed micro smart lockdown in the residential areas four towns of Central District in Karachi on Tuesday in the wake of rising number of cases during the third wave of coronavirus, Dunya News reported.
According to a notification issued in this regard, micro smart lockdown will remain imposed till May 11. The lockdown has been imposed after identification of hotspot areas by the district health officer. At least 58 COVID-19 patients have been reported in the hotspot areas.
Unnecessary gatherings, pillion riding, transport, business and industrial activities have been banned in the affected areas while grocery shops and medical stores will remain open under the covid-19 standard operation procedures (SOPs).
The locals have been directed wear facemasks and maintain social distance in the affected areas. COVID-19 positive patients in the hotspot areas have been directed to remain under quarantine at home.
